Why a Senior Portrait?

Connor, Seguin High School

It’s Spring – almost!

And with spring comes graduation! Celebrations, college and trade school applications, prom, and senior portraits!

Why should you get a senior portrait? Here are three reasons I think are most important – especially number three!

  1. For your relatives. Your parents, aunts, uncles, and grandparents are delighted that you are reaching this milestone, and a great way for them to remember is a professional portrait. I love the idea of graduation announcements or “save the date” cards with a portrait. When they are done well, senior portraits show a person just as they are transitioning from teen to young adult.

  1. For the future. One day, your children, nieces, nephews and young friends will want to know what you were like “back in the day.” I love these portraits of my parents, a few years before they met, when Dad was working his way through Schreiner Institute (now Schreiner University) and Mom was enjoying earning a paycheck and dancing at Gruene Hall with her friends. It’s hard to think about a time that far in the future, but someday, people who love you will treasure these portraits.

  1. As a celebration and reward! A senior portrait should be a fun experience about YOU! The right photographer will put you at ease, work with your style, and create a portrait that you will love. You’ve worked hard to earn that college or high school diploma, and you deserve to indulge a little bit and invest the time and money to create a memory.

On Wednesday, I’ll talk a little more about choosing the right photographer, but in the meantime, consider giving me a shout at cindymil120@gmail.com. I would love to make memories with you, and I promise I won’t break the bank. After all, you need to save some money for prom!
