Why should I have a Senior Portrait taken?

Lots of reasons! Graduating from high school, trade school, or college is a big deal! You've worked hard and you deserve to have a professional portrait so that you remember this time in your life with pride.

Those who have supported you along the will treasure these portraits, whether on their walls, in a memory book, or on digital media.

I already have portraits scheduled by the photographer the school chose. Why should I get more?

In a word, relationships. Most school-partnered photography companies will have limited time with you, and the choice of venue and scheduling will be limited. A professional photographer will work with you on when and where your session will be, and they will communicate with you one-on-one about everything from poses to pricing. It's worth it!

But a professional photographer costs so much more!

That is true in most cases, but you can work with me or any reputable photographer to get what you want within your budget. Shop around, look at websites, talk to former clients. When you find the right photographer, the investment is well worth it. My mission at Imagery Photography is to provide professional service within the reach of most families.

When should I schedule a senior portrait?

If you are a junior or senior, NOW! Many high school juniors have a session before the beginning of their senior year. Having it done a year ahead of time assures that your photographer will have plenty of sessions available, and it can help with budgeting. However, most photographers will accommodate you when you are comfortable. For 2020 and 2021 graduates who may not have had a chance to have portraits done because of the pandemic, you should get those portraits made now!
